Councilman Allan W. Jennings, Jr. stands firm on his decision that voting "No" for the 18.5% property tax increase was the right thing to do. He continues to be unfairly punished by the Council Speaker and the Queens political machine for his vote against the property tax increase. However, he does not regret standing up for the homeowners of our city.

Councilman Jennings has secured $8.5 million for laptops computers for every child in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades bringing our students into the next century. Since being elected to the Council PS 30, 48, 50, 96, 123, 155, 160, and PS 223 received their laptop computers. This Fall PS 55, 62, 121, 124 and PS 161 will receive their new computers. In his next term Councilman Jennings plans on providing Laptop computers for every child in MS 72 and JHS 226. He hopes that these computers will bring a zeal for learning among our children.

Councilman Jennings expects to secure 1/2 Million dollars in Capital funding for August Martin H.S. Which will be used to enhance the culinary program, create 5 new computer labs and purchase a plane for their aviation program.

Councilman Jennings has created many after-school programs such as a math program at PS 160 & 55, a track and reading program at PS 48, a sports & art program at PS 124, a homework help program at PS 40 and an after-school program at Rush Temple which serves the children of PS 123, 160 & 223.

Councilman Jennings also funds many other Youth programs such as the Rochdale Village Little League, Lincoln Park Athletic program, South Ozone Park Youth Center, Baisley Pond Park Coalition and Midori and Friends Music program at PS 48, 80 and 160.

Councilman Allan W. Jennings, Jr. is admired and is highly respected by his constituents for his independence and his diligence to serve them at all cost. He has been commended for his vision in supporting an agenda that includes all the people of the city of New York.
