1. What is the most important issue in Council District 28 you would address if elected?

The most important issue is the one the people want and need addressed at that time. The sluggish economy is negatively impacting our community in every area. The loss and lack of jobs results in loss of homes and families. Government agencies are cutting back on services rather than streamlining administration and operations. Quick fixes give only illusions of doing more with less rather than using these opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

As the councilmember I would continue to stress the issues affecting the people. Empowering people in their communities would be priority. We need to be better served by electeds and government.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I have been consistently serving the community since Girl Scouts. I share in your experiences as a single mother of a male; a grandmother concerned about her grandson's education, health, wealth and well being; a person struggling to maintain her home; a female veteran unsure of what to expect when I returned from serving my country; the daughter of one of the city's first black construction truck companies; a hard-working resident not afraid to stay informed and get involved, background or forefront; a baby boomer concerned about my future. My track record and character are the proven requirements needed to unite the resources and services, including the most powerful resource-the voter.
