1. What is the most important issue in Council District 1 you would address if elected?
Lower Manhattan is the fastest growing residential area of NYC but government services have not kept pace. We need to address an immediate crisis, public school overcrowding, so that no family goes through the agony of having their child on a waiting list. We also need to address affordability, job loss, lack of park space, public safety, and public transit. I'll provide vigorous and organized constituent services to make sure District 1 gets its fair share of government services.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Local government has to be more accessible for residents busy with jobs and families. I'll use satellite offices with extended hours and an interactive website to prioritize the best suggestions and collective wisdom from all residents about how to improve our neighborhoods.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I'm passionate about social justice and professional management. I offer new leadership, fresh energy, and an ability to bring people together to overcome our new challenges. As a non-profit executive, I've developed "common sense" approaches to connect working families, children, and the elderly to vital resources. I'll bring that same ability to solve problems and build bridges to serve District 1 with the passion and professionalism it deserves.
