1. What is the most important issue in Council District 10 you would address if elected?
If elected to the city council from district 10 one of the most important issue I would address would be the lack of decent and affordable residential and commercial rent. We have many apartment buildings that are old and in need of repairs. Unfortunately many of the property owners refuse to make repairs. And when repairs are done the quality of the repairs are questionable. City Inspectors need to inspect these apartments to verify that the repairs were made appropriate. Also, the city needs to reintroduce rent regulation for commercial property and create more low income housing by subsidizing and expanding current programs.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Another important issue I would address if elected is the importance of proper food and nutrition. Many of the district residents from seniors to children lack proper food nutrients. Some factors are not having enough knowledge or availability of food that are nutritionally good for you and lacking the funds to purchase them due to the current economical situation in our country. As an unfortunate consequence we are seeing an increase in diabetes cholesterol and other diseases that can be controlled with proper food nutrients and education.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
As a lifelong resident of the district I have experienced many of the changes the district has been through. I will be committed to continuing with the positive changes that were implemented by previous representatives and to introduce new initiatives which will address the current problems that affect us.
