1. What is the most important issue in Council District 10 you would address if elected?

I will address the issue of overcrowded schools and quality education District 6. We need to intervene in the schools in order to bring programs that work and close the achievement gap. I'm an educator, which gives me first hand experience. We need to equip our schools with state of the art equipment and at the same time train teachers with programs that work. If elected, I will take action in the improvement of the schools of my community.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

I'm concerned with the high cost of living in council district 10 coupled with deteriorating conditions of many residences. Small business owners are also being affected by the appalling cost of rent increase, driving local merchants out of business. As an active member of the Washington Heights, Inwood community, I will continue to be not only an advocate, but take action regarding these issues.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

What makes me the perfect candidate for this office is the vast experience as an educator and community activist addressing issues of interest to the community. Fighting for more youth and education programs, health, public safety, senior citizens services and housing. In addition, my involvement with the community board, the local precinct, the tenants association among other local organizations that provide public service makes me a competitive candidate for the struggles that this community is facing.
